3.1. Personal Data You Provide to Us on Our Website. If you send us a “Contact Us” request, feedback, comment, or in connection with creating a Guest Writer/Creator Profile/Bio on our Website, or when you opt into our Newsletter, or when you download any of our content, you may be required to provide us with certain information that may constitute Personal Data such as: Your name, Email address, Telephone number, Physical address, Profile/Bio photo, and Communications you send to us.

3.1.a. Transactions. If you make a purchase or transaction, you may be required to provide us with certain information that may constitute Personal Data such as: Your name, Email address, Telephone number, Billing information, and Payment source.

3.1.b. Comments. Please note that by posting a comment on our Website or in our Forum, you consent to the posting of any Personal Data that you provide. You should be aware that such Personal Data can be read, collected, or used by other visitors to these public areas. We have no control over how these visitors use your Personal Data.

3.2.c. We are currently not using a third-party provider to deliver email newsletters.

3.3. Information Collected Automatically. Certain information on our Website is collected automatically by means of various software tools. We have a legitimate interest in using such information to assist in log-in, systems administration purposes, information security, abuse prevention, tracking user trends, and analyzing the effectiveness of our Website. All Things Ethnic reserves the right to use technological equivalents of cookies, including social media pixels. All Things Ethnic reserves the right to use these pixels in compliance with the policies of the various social media sites.

3.3.e. Third Parties. Some content or applications, including advertisements on our Website, are served by third parties, including advertisers, ad networks and servers, content providers, and application providers. All Things Ethnic does not sell, trade, lease, rent, or otherwise disclose the Personal Data collected from our Website to third parties unless otherwise stated below or with your consent.

5.1. Business Partners. From time to time, we may partner with other companies to jointly offer products or services. If you purchase or specifically express interest in a jointly offered product or service from us, we may share Personal Data collected in connection with your purchase or expression of interest with our joint promotion partner(s). We do not share Personal Data with business partners unless you specifically opt in to such sharing via an event registration form. If you do not wish for your Personal Data to be shared in this manner, you may choose not to opt in via event registration forms.

5.3. All Things Ethnic will not sell, trade, lease, rent, or otherwise disclose your Personal Data to others. We do not automatically log Personal Data, nor do we link information automatically logged by other means with Personal Data about specific individuals. We may use IP addresses to compile and provide aggregate statistics about our visitors, traffic patterns, and administration of our Website. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. We collect only the Personal Data that you may volunteer while using our services. We do not collect information about our visitors from other sources, such as public records or bodies, or private organizations.

6. Retention of Personal Data

We reserve the right to retain any Personal Data if the Personal Data are needed to: (i) fulfill the purposes that are described in Section 4 (The Purposes for Which We Use Personal Data), and (ii) comply with applicable law.

Depending on where you live, you may have a right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority or other regulatory agency if you believe that we have violated any of the rights concerning Personal Data about you. 7.2. Opting Out of Promotional Emails. You may choose not to receive future promotional or advertising emails from us by selecting an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email that you receive from us, or by responding to the emails directly and requesting removal if such a link is not available. Additionally, you may send a request specifying your communications preferences to info@allthingsethnic.com. Please note that even if you opt out of receiving the foregoing emails, we may still send you a response to any “Contact Us” request as well as administrative, maintenance, and operational emails.

8. Data Security

The security of Personal Data is important to us. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the Personal Data submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We employ commercially reasonable methods to ensure the security of the information you provide to us and the information we collect automatically. This includes using standard security protocols and working only with reputable third-party vendors. Email is not recognized as a secure medium of communication. For this reason, we request that you do not send private information to us by email. However, doing so is allowed, but at your own risk. Some of the information you may enter on our Website may be transmitted securely via a secure medium known as Secure Sockets Layer, or SSL. Credit Card information and other sensitive information are never transmitted via email.

All Things Ethnic may use software programs to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing the number of visitors to the different sections of our Website, what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas.

For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, All Things Ethnic uses software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.

9. Children’s Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is important to us. For that reason, we do not collect or maintain information on our Website from those we know are under 18. If you are under 18, do not use or provide any information on our Website or through any of its features on our Website, make any purchases through our Website, use any of the interactive or public comment features of our Website or provide any information about yourself to us, including: Your name, Email address, Telephone number, Physical address, or any Screen name or Username you may use.

10. How We Respond to Do Not Track Signals

At this time, All Things Ethnic is unable to universally respond to “Do Not Track” or other “opt-out” mechanisms that have been activated by a user through their web browser, and except as otherwise provided herein, does not alter its policies if a user activates such mechanism.

11. Your California Privacy Rights

For your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), please see “Special Information for California Consumers.” You may also request to opt out of an advertiser’s use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative or the Digital Advertising Alliance. You may request to opt out of Google’s use of cookies by visiting https://www.google.com/ads/preferences/. All applicable terms on these websites will apply to your request to opt out in addition to this Privacy Policy. While we take measures to ensure that those responsible for receiving and responding to your request are informed of your rights and how to help you exercise those rights when contacting us to exercise your rights, we ask you to please adhere to the following guidelines:
